Bike Ride with Grandpa Harmon

Grandpa Harmon has been trying to find a trailer to go the back of his bike so that he can take Zoey, or other little grandkids, for bike rides. He enjoys bike riding a lot. He found one for his bike just before Bryce's sisters came up. They went for a few rides but I wasn't able to get any pictures until today. Zoey obvioulsy went by herself and had lots of fun. They went down to the park and around the block. Grandpa wanted to make sure she was safe and bought her this cute helmet. It has cute little dragons. Zoey LOVES slides. Its her favorite thing. She was ho so mad when Grandpa said it was time to go. She cried the whole way home. He felt really bad. I heard them when they cam home because Zoey was crying "I go back slide, I go back and slide". So as soon as they came in they went straight to the backyard and went down the slide a few more times. She loved it until we said no more. No a very happy girl. She didn't have much of a nap. It's hard on Sundays because church starts when she goes down for a nap. She onyl got about 25 minutes of nap today, so she was upset more then normal cuz she was sleepy. Grandpa said that she had a routine that she did for everytime she went down the slide. He showed her how to runa stick against some bars and also to turn big tubes that had numbers so her rountine was as soon as she would get off slide, she would run over and grab the stick, hit the bars, then run over to the tube and turn the numbers and then go down the slide again. He said she did it over and over again. Sometimes she would walk past the stick but then as soon as she remembered she would turn around and do it then go back to the tube and then the slide. Silly girl. I think they both really enjoyed it. I am glad that Grandpa and Zoey have something special to do together that they both enjoy and have time to spend with each other.
Getting ready to go.
Cute helmet!!!
Already to go with Grandpa!!

Off to the park!

Week 3 of School

So I got back my first test from last week and I did better than I thought. I got 78%, which isn't bad considering it was the first week, had lot of homework and new terminology was being thrown at me and I had family here all week that I would have rather played with than locked up in my room studing. This weeks test was alot easier and I think I did better on this one then the first test. Thought I would update all of you on school. I am still haveing lots of fun learning everything. It is still overwhelming but it is getting eaiser. The only thing I am scared about is needles and syringes. One of the instructors husband had to some in for emergency filling. He called and said he chipped his tooth. We were able to watch the whole procedure and I was fine with all of it except the needle. I almost fainted when he pulled the syringe out and started to use it. I was really light headed and had to leave for a while to go sit down and gather myself before I faint. I hope that I can overcome that. I was a little annoyed at myself for that and I hope it goes away and I can handle syringes and needles again.

Conversations asleep

Bryce has had conversations with me when he was sleeping so the other day this was our conversation:

Bryce: Hey, how are you feeling?
Me: (I was a little nauseous from something I ate the night before) I'm better
Bryce: By the way, I am awake.
Me: (Believing him) Ok, I am going to go take a shower and then we are going to go. (Shannon and her kids were still here)
Bryce: Are you going to shower?
Me: Yeah
Bryce: Are you going to shower naked?
Me: (sarcastically) Nope, with my clothes on
Bryce: OOOHHH (disappointed)

I normally try not to say to much because I know he won't remember any of it but this time he told me he was awake, when he really wasn't. We have had many other conversations that he doesn't remember and its always funny to talk to him about it when he is REALLY awake.

JJ Jump

Today was the last day Shannon and her kids were here. Their flight left at 1:55pm so this morning we went to a place called JJ Jump. It's a big warehouse with blown up slides and trampolines for the kids to play on. This was the first time Zoey has been able to play on. Last time she was there, she was just learning how to crawl. So, at first she freaked out and cried saying "No like". But then eventually she got use to it and was a little better. I took her down one of the slides and of course she loved it and wanted to go down it again. There was an obstacle course that I tried to get her to go in but she was afraid of it and screamed anytime we went close to it. I was able to get her past one little part when Cassidy went with us but that was as far as she would go because then she started to scream. The slide that she played mostly on was a little hard for her to climb up at first so I carried her up there and eventually I got tired and had to sit down. That wasn't okay with her. She through herself to the ground adn screamed. Her fits are usually her falling on her knees and then the rest belly down. This time she skip falling on her knees and fell stright down. Shannon, Grandma and I just laughed. It was pretty funny to see. After I got a little rest we went on it again but she was able to figure out how to climb up to go down the slide. She liked it, I liked it and wasn't going to get worn out. When she went down sitting up, she would fly forward almost doing a flip everytime. One time she actually did and it was pretty funny. She kind of bite her tongue but was okay and a little shooken up. All in all it was fun for her and the cousins. We are going to miss having Cassidy and Kayla to play with.

EWWW

Unfortunately, Zoey knows what a fart is and when it happens. Bryce taught her how to say fart, and I taught her how to say ewww. She has been doing very well when it comes to talking so the other day she farted and this is what she said "ewww, oh I fawrt".

Family Visit

This past week, we have had Bryce's older sisters Danette with her little gilr Abby who was born on Zoey's birthday last year and Shannon and her 3 kids, Cassidy who is 5, Kayla who is 3 and then Brogan who is 5 month, came out to visit from New Hampshire to get away from the snow. It didn't work to their advantage because we just got a pretty bad hail storm mixed with a little snow here and raining all week plus it didn't help that it also was 81 degrees back home. So as far as reasoning to come out, it stinks for them. But we have had lots of fun with them out here. We went to a place called Kids Club on Wednesday where they have a jungle gym type thing with a big snake slide. Zoey really liked the slide but wasn't so sure about going up to the slide. I went in there with her but the whole time she paniced and got mad and didn't like it. Kept saying "No Like". But once we got to the slide and down it she wanted to go again. Then Thursday night we went to our gym and went swinning with everybody and invited one of their friend and her little girl Ally. That was a blast. They have a little kiddie area, a lazy river, lap area ad they have a big water slide. Since we have had memberships we haven't gone down the slide until then and Zoey loved it. She was freezing cold, with purple hands, feet and lips and was shivering while waiting to go down. She loved it so much that she didn't care if she was cold. We tried to stay in the water to get a little warm but she just wanted to go down the slide. As sson as we were off the slide she would say "I go down slide again". She had a blast. Everybody had a blast. Bryce and I switched off going down the slide between Zoey, Cassidy and Kayla. It was fun.

The whole time they have been here, Zoey has been calling everyone Starla. I thought it was funny because we haven't seen Starla in a while and she hasn't ever really said Starla, but everyone to her is Starla. Funny girl. Zoey has been playing really well with the girls. Except for the few "Mine" arguements. She has done really well sharing everything with them. She had a meltdown when we had to use her carseat for Abby. But she eventually was okay with it. She did better around Abby. Last time Abby and Danette were here, she wanted nothing to do with her. She was mad when I held Abby. Very jealous but she has done great with Abby and even with Brogan. She has actually been a little curious with him. She hasn't gotten jealous when Mommy or even Grandma holds him. She has been a very good girl. Cassidy, Kayla and Zoey all had matching swim suits. Shannon took some pictures so I will have theet them on when I get them from her. We have had a lot of fun spending time with his family. We are looking forward to our Family reunion coming up in August at Bear Lake.

Ice Cream

So Bryce was going to the store for some food when we were visiting our friend Bryce in Albany and he asked me if I wanting anything. I told him to get me stuff for a root beer float because it sounded good. So he comes back with a liter root beer and a half of a cup of ice cream. Yes, only a half of a cup. Haagen Daz has a small container of ice cream that is seriously only about 1/2 a cup. I couldn't believe that he brought me that. His reasoning was that I wasn't going to have a whole lot so why buy alot? What a nice try.

Starting School

Today was my first day of dental assistant school. It was a long, overwhelming but fun experience. The class is only on saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm. So I am saying goodbye to weekends for about 3 months. It is going to be tough espcially doing all the homework. Already for homework I have to read about 7 chapters and do the worksheets for each of those chapters, all due next saturday and also I have a test every saturday first thing in the morning on the stuff when learned that week. Also I have 3 research papers during the semester. The first one is due in 2 or 3 weeks. So I have a lot to do these next 12 weeks. I am excited.

Today we had lecture from 8 to about 11:30 when we talked about the names and positions of the teeth. There was a lot of stuff and notes we took. Then we had an hour lunch then lab for the rest. Lab was pretty fun. We basically toured the place which is a dental practice. We have class in the recepition area and our labs are the little rooms you would go in. Anyway, I paired up with a girl whos 19th birthday was today. The teachers, who have real jobs besides teaching us things, say we could be twins. We look a lot alike. It will be interesting to see what happens. There are only 2 teachers and they like to joke which is good. It will make it funner. Anyway, we each went into the x-ray room where we will be taking X-rays of their dummy named Dexter. We got to play around with him and see the computer. We didn't take pictures, just see and feel around. We played with bite wings which are the thing they use to take x-rays. There are different ones. They also have digital which are more bulkier then the bite wings. Then we went into the sterilization room and lloked in allthe drawers to see where everything was. I couldn't tell you where exactly things were or what they were but I know the biohazard garbage was under the sink and also where they sterilize the tools or equipment. They have names for those equipment but I can't rememeber. Then we went and played with the gloves and masks and eye glasses/shield. I have to buy my own pair of eye glasses/shield. We learned the proper process for that. Then we played with the chairs and the light babove the chair. Then we played with the suction and water tools. THe suction is the HVE or High velocity extractor. That was fun. Everybody was the patient. It was interesting letting people that have no idea what they are doing in your mouth to practice. I was a little nervous but at the same time that is the only way you will learn what not to do. It was fun. 3 of us girls had fun. We were all alone, giving each other pointers, laughing and getting each other wet. It was a good experience. The day was overwhelming, just trying to understand what every saturday is going to be like. Its going to be a lot of work.

Little Miss Informative

Zoey has been telling me everything all day long about what she is doing or what she found or what to do. When she finds something on the floor, its "ew, yucky. Throw away garbage." When we sit down and eat dinner, she gets her hands dirty every time but as soon as she touches the food, its "Oh, I wash hand". She likes to play Nigh-Night, which is lay down with a pillow and her blanket to cover herself up and then her routine: "I go nigh nigh. Oh, kiss. MMMMMAAA. Hug. Uhhh. (thats her squeeze) Lul you." As she points a finger to match yours like E.T. and then a pretend snore like daddy. Then she will sit up and say "Good more-ging." She has learned so many new words. She also has been playing Ring Around the Rosies. Mainly its "ashes ashes all fall down. Yeah (while laying on the floor)" I am impressed that she knows it and plays it. And tonight while reading her book she told me to share. The book is a touch and feel animal book. It has a li-li (lion) with a hairy mane, lizard with bumpy skin, dolphin with smooth skin, a tree forg with sticky pads on fingers and a furry koala. So when I got to the tree frog, we were both playing with the sticky pads when all of a sudden she turns up to me and says "Share Mama." I laughed. I have been trying to get her to share her toys but it is always a hassle and ends up with temper tantrums because she doesn't want to do it. I couldn't believe she had just told me to share. She ended up saying it again but with her sort of rolling her eyes. What a little snot. I love her to death. She makes me laugh everyday with the funny things she does. I get a kick out of things she comes up with to say and do. She is a very inventive little girl.

Running with Zoey

This week I have been working full time because we have been very short handed at work for staff plus I was out all last week with Strep throat, so Zoey has been spending lots of time with Dad. Apparently she was continuosly taking her diaper off all day. I asked why he didn't just put clothes on her so she couldn't but she kept getting them wet or dirty. So needless to say, Zoey was on one and Dad needed a break. So, when I came home from work, I dressed Zoey and we ran around the house for about 30 min. Mom got a pretty good workout while Zoey was just getting energy out with still more to go. We would run down the hall and then turn around, say "oh no" and ran back then end up falling on the floor in the family room. Back and forth we went for 30 min. Mom had to stop every once in a while so that she could check on dinner, which Zoey didn't like. Everytime I would stop she'd say "Mommy 1, 2, 3, go!" Thats her way of telling me that I need to run with her. It was lots of fun and something she loves to do quite often. Every once in a while she kept telling me that she was poopy but when I check her she says "No. No poopy." Stinker. I think she was just wet but thought she was poopy. I think also that was the cause of why she was trying to keep her diaper off all day, or just becasue she can take her own diaper off now. Who knows. Silly girl!

Beautiful art: By Zoey

Any chance Zoey has with a pen she writes all over herself. Or on her bed.

Here is a close up of her beautiful body art.

Here is what she did in bed She found a pen in her room and decorated her bed. The pen mark didn't come out in the wash.

If you can see, notice how its kind of a circle because she sat and drew all around her. What a good girl!!

Starting Blog

Well, here is my attempt at starting my own blog. It has always looked fun but I have had a few problems. Starla helped figure it out so now I have it going. Hope you enjoy!!
